Big News, Big Books, and a Big Dream

Every so often, this journey as a publisher gives me a moment to pause, look around, and feel completely overwhelmed—in the best way—by everything unfolding. Lately, Bluebonnet Books has been buzzing with creativity, collaboration, and possibilities that feel bigger than anything I’ve built before. Today, I wanted to bring you into the heart of it all.

The Fallen Queen — A New Epic Begins

I’m thrilled to officially share that J.D. Marcella’s debut novel, The Fallen Queen, is gearing up for its release this November. This book has reignited my love for epic fantasy in a way I didn’t expect. The world is lush, the stakes are monumental, and Kalithea’s journey has had me gasping, mourning, and cheering with every chapter.

The moment I signed this project, I knew it was special. Watching it take shape—watching her rise—has been one of the highlights of my year. I cannot wait for readers to experience this first installment of The Queen of Light and Shadows series.

Poetry for the Modern Soul — The Social Sonnets

On a completely different, but equally powerful note, M.D. Petti’s The Social Sonnets is a project that feels timeless and timely all at once. In a world overflowing with noise, this collection offers a return to quiet reflection.

Blending the revered structure of Shakespearean sonnets with the pulse of the modern world, Petti captures love, loss, and the human ache with a clarity that lingers. Editing this book has been like exhaling—a reminder that poetry still has the power to soften us, steady us, and make us feel understood.

Announcing FABLE Book Con — Coming 2026

And perhaps the biggest announcement of all:

J.D. Marcella and I are launching FABLE Book Con in 2026.

What started as a simple idea—a gathering place for authors and readers—has blossomed into a full-fledged vision: a celebration of storytelling, community, creativity, and connection.

You can expect:

  • panels and workshops

  • book signings and vendor tables

  • a space for indie authors to shine

  • opportunities for publishers, editors, and creatives to connect

  • and a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone who loves stories belongs

  • Did I forget to mention the Fantasy Ball?

Watching this dream move from concept to planning to reality has been surreal. And this is only the beginning.

What It All Means

Bluebonnet Books has grown more in the last year than I ever expected. Not just in numbers, but in heart. In community. In purpose.

Working with authors like J.D. Marcella and M.D. Petti reminds me why I started this press in the first place. Launching FABLE Book Con reminds me just how far this dream can reach.

If you’ve been following along, supporting from the sidelines, submitting your work, or simply sending encouragement—thank you. Truly.

There is so much more coming, and I’m honored to be building it with all of you.
